We've funded over 252 cancer research, urge and prevention projects. Since 2007 Tour de Cure has raised over 23 million for cancer research, promote and prevention projects. 80 of people with breast or prostate cancer survive more than five years behind diagnosis. Prevention projects that are focused on education and awareness. Hence the Tour de Cure Board, guided by our project assessment parameters, values and reviews, select Tour de Cure’s Research, Promote and Prevention projects targeted for funding for that year. Our priority is to prohibit and cure cancer, as well as improving quality of life for those affected by cancer. We give funding for cancer prevention projects, including: The project aims to prosper better therapies for brain cancers by combining existing cytotoxic drugs with novel drugs that directly trigger cell death. This will assist in development of targeted therapies for relapsed patients and improve tolerant survival. These tumor samples are essential for genetic testing and growing tumor cell lines to test new therapies for brain cancer patients. This research aims to grasp how this pathway interferes with the exempt system to identify new treatment strategies for treating brain cancers. Given one in three cancer cases are preventable, at every opportunity across Australia, Tour de Cure visits schools and community events to engage children and adults in our Be Fit Be Well Be Happy’ cancer awareness program. Aid in funding a blood cancer related support service for cancer sufferers in the region. 35 Research, Promote and Prevention projects were funded from funds raised in the 2014 financial year. Towards the buy of a specialized palliative protection bed for use in Hospital in patient’s homes to aid in end of life care. Funding local promote assistance programs and Nurse cancer support assistance. 38 Research, Promote and Prevention projects were funded from funds raised in 2013 financial year. Throughout the course of the Tour de Cure 2012 financial year, we fundraiser in order to donate funding to the subsequent Research, Promote and Prevention Projects for men, women and children. We are arrogant to share the cancer Research, Urge and Prevention Projects we helped to fund in 2012. Fund two free cancer information clinics in Treatment centers and hospitals (Cancer Council Australia). Each year the Board and team at HQ have challenged themselves to plan more hard routes to come ambitious fund raising targets. In 2012, Tour de Cure held their inaugural 'Cancer Awareness for Country Kids' Tour in Victoria that aimed to not only raise funds to find a cure for cancer but improve the outrageous cancer statistics in regional Australia. They are an crucial portion of the Tour de Cure calendars to accomplish awareness and award much needed funds to organizations in regional communities acting in the fight against cancer. Tour de Cure as an organization has also evolved. What began as a means to raising funds to award to beneficiary projects has become a vehicle for supporting those living with cancer and their families and spreading a message of prevention through being fit, well and happy. The Tour de Cure Board is now looking to its following step change which is to shine a laser focus on advancing breakthroughs towards a cure for cancer. The organization will do what it does superior ride and hoist funds and through its delicate process identify some key research groups or individuals that are accessible to or busy towards a significant breakthrough in a cure.
