Reading, writing, & creativity! leap into literacy provides private and group tutoring with a focus on reading comprehension and writing. Group tutoring classes are for students in grades 3-7 and are held after school at the dougherty centre in chatswood. Whether your child would benefit from one-on-one tutoring or small group tutoring, leap into literacy can help! we can provide tutoring for all needs, including: * learning difficulties * special needs * esl * gifted * home-schooling private tutoring is for children of all ages and can be held in your own home or the tutor's. Using techniques that allow students to become creative in the learning process, tutoring sessions are fun and achieve maximum results. Allison Greenland is the founder and facilitator of Leap into Literacy, a program designed to aid children become engaged in reading and writing through original techniques. She is currently completing her end year of a PhD in Curriculum and Teaching and holds a Master’s degree in Education. Allison has many years of experience busy with students who have learning disabilities, special needs, and who are gifted and talented, and she also has a TEFL certification. Her research has focused specifically on reading comprehension strategies for adolescent students and thriving learning techniques for students of all abilities. Allison has eleven years experience as a Primary teacher and maximum recently as a Gifted and Talented teacher for both Primary and Secondary students, as healthy as a Creative Writing teacher for adults. She has also been tutoring privately throughout her teaching career and has recently made the move to focus wholly on Leap into Literacy. Louise is a teacher of the Leap into Literacy Program. Over the final two years she has worked as a MSW Curriculum Program Deliverer to schools state and interstate wide. Since 2012, she has also been a tutor of English for stages 16, including NAPLAN preparation and ESL classes. Beginning her academic studies in cultural literature, ancient languages and original writing units, Louise has a vibrant in depth background that has aided her teaching practices. Her passion is to see students grow in their love of learning, particularly in their literacy confidence. An awareness of different learning styles has shaped her methodology to incorporate visual, auditory and kinesthetic approaches. One of the main factors that drew Louise to Leap into Literacy was its unique focus on quality learning, creativity, and enjoyment of reading and writing. He takes immense pride in teaching and inspiring young students to excel and triumph in their academic studies and his aim is to amplify students’ chances of victory in English at school and beyond. A definite understanding of a student’s needs, focused oneonone direction and enthusiasm are key to this. He believes that it is important to instill confidence and self belief so that students are motivated to learn. She is a lead practitioner for Literacy and supports schools to elevate standards in Literacy. Lara believes that learning needs to be suitable and merriment in order for children to be engaged and inspired to learn, and strives to make learning individual for every child she teaches. Alisha is an experienced and passionate teacher with an avid interest in English Literature and Ingenious writing. Since 2014, she has also been a tutor of English for stages 13, including NAPLAN preparation. With a love of English, Literature and ingenious writing for stage and screen, Alisha is turbulent to be teaching with Leap into Literacy and believes students need to be engaged with quality literature and film as a starting point for developing an interest in writing and reading comprehension. Students should feel encouraged and supported and given distinct guidance for transferring their ideas and thoughts into cohesive writing samples.
